That Time of the Year

Fall is firmly underway and that means things are going to start picking up steam as we head into the holidays. As the days go by, and the days get more and more hectic, make sure you make the time to take care of yourself.  

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are all coming up soon. That means candy, lots of food, and maybe a bit of drinking. It’s almost like the calendar is out to derail you! Fortunately, your friends at CrossFit Tradewinds have got your back, as always! This month starts the Fall Fit Challenge! Taking part in this will arm you with the knowledge to keep you dialed in and on track in the face of all the temptations the holidays throw at you. 

Even if you’re not taking part in the challenge, our coaches can give you some pointers both in terms of exercise and nutrition. They want to see you succeed almost as much as you do!

   Athlete of the Month   

October’s Athlete of the Month is Caitlin!
She’s been coming around for a little more than half a year, and she’s been absolutely crushing it! She’s coming in consistently and giving it her all – hallmarks of a textbook CFT athlete of the month. On top of that, she’s a positive presence in class, which makes her very deserving of the title! Let’s hear more: 

Athlete Interview
CFT: Where are you from?
Caitlin: I grew up in the Finger Lakes region of Western NY, but have lived in Boston for the majority of the last 10 years: Brighton, Jamaica Plain, and now Winthrop (yay!)

CFT: How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Caitlin: About 7 months.

Sunday,October 15 | 9am to 1pm

Assess, Correct, & Unify your mobility.
Understand your movement restrictions, learn the 5-point corrective system to see immediate results, and then incorporate new mobility back into your movements. This seminar is designed to help you move safer & more efficiently, and to keep you moving for longer.

  Tradewinds Kids   

We are in the process of building a Tradewinds CrossFit Kids Program that will be based on these three Key Principles:
  1. Mechanics,
  2. Consistency, 
  3. and then relative Intensity
The Overall Goals of our Kids program is to:
  • Provide a board and inclusive environment to empower all kids
  • Get kids up and moving
  • Create a positive and fun association with fitness
The Programs Emphasize will be on good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to:
  • physical literacy 
  • enhanced sports performance 
  • fewer sports related injuries 
  • improved cognitive function
  • more fun
Fun means we provide an active alternative to sedentary pursuits, which means less childhood obesity and all-around better health for our child

Fright Fest Competition

Saturday, October 28 | 8:00am | CrossFit Nashua

Come cheer on some of our very own Tradewinds Athletes as they take on this fantastic 6 person team competition. Tradewinds will have a tent. Feel free to bring a chair, snacks/drinks, and maybe even a firepit.
